Taylor Wessing is delighted to announce further expansion of its patent law capabilities with the appointment of Jules Fabre as a partner in the firm's Paris office. Jules Fabre joins on 1 May 2025 from Pinsent Masons, where he led the Intellectual Property practice, and brings with him Marina Jonon (counsel) and Louise Millot (associate). A third associate, Clémence de Marassé-Enouf, will arrive later in June from A&O Shearman.
Adding patents capability in Paris completes Taylor Wessing’s coverage of all major patent litigation jurisdictions and further strengthens the firm’s position as a top tier firm in the Unified Patents Court (UPC). With its long-established reputation as the global law firm of choice for IP-rich businesses and one of the largest IP teams in Europe, this latest step reinforces Taylor Wessing’s commitment to providing seamless cross-border support to clients as they pursue innovation and growth against an increasingly complex international backdrop.
Jules Fabre’s practice and sector expertise aligns ideally with Taylor Wessing’s strategic aspirations. He specialises in patent and supplementary protection certificate litigation, both before French courts and the UPC, and is experienced in coordinating pan-European litigations and market access strategies. He and his team have deep expertise in the life sciences and healthcare sectors in particular.
The practice is ranked amongst the top patent practice in Paris by JUVE Patent, Legal 500, Chambers, IAM Patent and IP Stars.
The addition of Jules Fabre brings the Paris partner team to 26 and comes shortly after the firm relocated to new premises in the city, appropriate to accommodate further expansion in line with Taylor Wessing’s international growth strategy.
Gilles Amsallem, Managing Partner of Taylor Wessing in Paris, commented: "This is an exciting step for our international patent law practice and for Taylor Wessing in France. The calibre of Jules Fabre and his team significantly strengthens our ability to support our clients in strategic litigation, in line with market developments and the growing needs of businesses in terms of protecting innovation."
Jules Fabre commented: “Taylor Wessing has one of the largest and most regarded patent and IP practice in Europe, and is one of the most active firms before the UPC. We are extremely happy to further strengthen the firm’s patent capabilities with a team in Paris and to be able to offer our clients a first class expertise in all of their key jurisdictions in Europe.”
