The majority of the consumer protection elements of the UK's Digital Markets Competition and Consumers Act have applied since 6 April 2025 (although not the rules on subscription contracts). The new regime will impact most businesses targeting UK consumers and there are significant potential fines for failure to comply. We also consider how these new rules will be enforced by the CMA under its new direct enforcement powers.
